no,17974 Cpl Taylor W. 6th Bn York & Lancs Regt was
awarded the Disinguished Conduct Medal, Vide
Supplemant to London Gazette dated 18/2/1919.
Near Epinoy on the 1st Oct 1918, he led his section
under heavy fire and reached the final objective.
He caused tne enemy many casualties and kept his
section going all the time, and held the position to
allow the others to retire when the order came to
withdraw. He showeda mahnificent spirit throughout
nd disregard of his own oesonal safety.
