1

So many times I have of late
at my life to take a look
to sort the good out from the bad
my conscience really shook.
But who am I to be the Judge
No two can think alike
So now the Verdict all is yours
my summing up, your fate.

2

My boyhood days around the farm
Hold Golden memories still
where else on earth Could ever hold
Such Happiness, such charm.
The Old Grey Mare, yes dear old Bess
who pulled the old Horse plough
The miles we walked just up and down
No Hurry, rush, or fuss.

3

I treasure more the Days, the Hours
more than in Childhood days
I respect much more the life God gave
and natures wonderous powers
I always loved the little flowers
which grow among the thorns
and always loved the open fields
and the sight of Golden corns

4

I picture still the village church
my seat up in the choir
where I was taught to sing the Hymns
and Solos from Messiah
I remember too how tense I was
The organ and its power
when it came my turn to sing
My Gods one silent Hour

5

as time marched on
I left my school
for my Daily Bread to earn
Twas then I found my fellow man
my life was on the turn
With Saw and Hammer, nail, and screw,
The workshop with its fun
The smell of Timber, deals and pine
and craftsmen were our crew.

6

I'll not forget the winters days
when my thoughts turned to First-Aid
How I remember First -Aid Laws
and all the Friends I made
Twas God who gave me power to Help
my Brother in Distress
and treating all those little wounds
made life one great success.

7

I took unto myself a wife
and feel that good hath Blest
The Happy years we lived as one
and all that love knows best.
Then children two were sent our way
and life was near complete
The four of us, a happy Band
The sound of little feet.

8

I took my part in World War two
An Air Raid Warden Bold.
How much I Bobbed or ran away
Can never now be told.
I went to London just the Same
to Help in Rescue work
The scenes I saw, the Heartaches too
are memories Dear and true.

9

One day I left my friends behind
With Workshop, Bench and all
and thought that I had learned enough
to start a Business small.
My years of study, peace of mind
Made this a worthy risk
and never once did I look Back
my friends have been so kind.

10

I understand how faith will wain
Life now seems so unkind
What Have I done my Health to Break
my prayers seem so in vain
with pain and suffering yea, threefold
Suspence as bourne by all
I'm like a Driftwood in the sea
but life goes on the same.
